SIFP in Princeton

At the end of last academic year, I knew it was time to start thinking about a major: I had one more semester of classes, and then I was expected to choose a final fate for my academic career.
This past summer, I had the opportunity to complete a academic course through the SIFP STEM Study Fellows program, which was established this year. I was one of seven other students who decided to complete summer courses at the nearby Rutgers University.
This summer, I worked in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute (PNI) as a SIFP ReMatch Fellow.  I worked in Asif Ghanzanfar’s lab, the Developmental Neuromechanics & Communication lab, and studied vocalizations in marmoset monkeys.  This was my first formal research position and I had a great time!
