This summer I participated in the Leadership Alliance Summer research early identification program. It is a program dedicated to exposing students from minority and/or disadvantaged backgrounds to life as a PhD student in Academia.
This summer I was lucky enough to participate in both the ReMatch Summer Research Experience and the Freshman Scholars Institute. ReMatch is a program that allows rising sophomores and juniors to conduct research on campus with the guidance of a graduate student mentor.
As I walked up the staircase of a familiar place at 8:30 AM, I felt tingles for my first day of research. Ever since I successfully concluded my engineering course in the Freshmen Scholars Institute program, I thoroughly enjoyed the process of tracking the flight course of my very own bottled rocket.
