Alex is a Princeton-trained sociologist gone awry. Now a lecturer in the Writing Program, he studies a hodgepodge of unusual topics related to gender and sexuality—from public bathrooms to reality television to queer brains—and loves teaching first-year students the ropes of academic research and writing through his two Writing Seminars. He also moonlights as a high-school marching band instructor in the summer months, has a deep and abiding passion for homemade lasagna, and enjoys talking about himself in the third person.
