SIFP COVID-19 FAQ

How do I get in touch with PAI staff?

While the PAI office is closed for in person activity, we are still here for you! PAI staff will be hosting open office hours for SIFP students from 12-1pm everyday. You can find our Zoom link here: https://princeton.zoom.us/j/3917743811

Additionally, PAI staff will be available for one on one appointments daily for students. Please refer to the links below to access our WASE calendar.

I am completing my semester online. How can I engage in my virtual classrooms?

McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning has compiled a resource guide that helps guide students through the online learning experience. Check out the McGraw Center’s Guide to engaging in virtual engaging and learning.

I am realizing that I need to rent an apartment for the rest of the semester. How do I do that?

If you are in Princeton town, check out the Off-Campus Housing site and Tiger Trade for apartments near campus. If you are out of the state of New Jersey, check out online sites like Zillow, rentapartments.com, and Street Easy.

How can I access academic, professional development, and counseling resources through the University?

This guide includes information for students about Princeton wide resources that are still available to students for the second half of the spring. This information will be kept as up to date as possible.

I had a campus job this spring semester, what will happen with that?

Student workers who leave or who choose to remain on campus can continue to work at the discretion of their supervisor. Students whose work cannot be done remotely, or whose department is not operational, may contact their supervisors to request sick time for previously scheduled missed work. Students with an available sick time balance will be paid for work interrupted by the COVID-19 crisis. Sick time balance inquiries should be directed to the Student Employment Office.

Will PAI programs continue over summer for 2020?

Currently, we are unsure if the Freshman Scholars Institute Residential Program (FSI) and Summer STEM courses will continue as planned. We are exploring the possibility of moving all of our summer programming for the summer of 2020 online. If we continue with online programming, we will open our applications again. Please check back to this page for more information.

What are best practices and resources for taking care of myself while being in accordance with “social distancing” protocol?

Create and stick to a routine which includes showering, getting ready for the day, spending some time outside and some type of physical movement. While the demands of classes will be a new challenge, make sure you also make time for connecting virtually with friends regularly.

I had a question that wasn’t answered. Who can I contact?
