I am a historian of science, which is a field most people have never heard of before college (and most people have never heard of even during or after). But it is fascinating! There are a bunch of us in the History Department, spanning many of the sciences, as well as technology and medicine. Personally, I primarily work on the history of physics and chemistry, topics related to Russian and Soviet (and sometimes European or American) history, nuclear weapons, and the history of ideas that are labeled "pseudosciences." I am also one of the few faculty — at least, that I've met — who were born and raised in New Jersey, although in my case there were occasional gaps between the being born and being raised which took me overseas. I do not believe that one should dip strawberries in chocolate.
